About Laura Challen:

Dr. Laura Challen is a graduate of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy.  Since completion of her Pharmacy Practice Residency with an Emphasis in Managed Care at The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2006, Dr. Challen worked to start and manage outpatient clinical pharmacy services at the Harris County Hospital District, in Houston, Texas.  She is now in her 12th year as faculty at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP), as an associate professor, where she coordinates an Endocrinology Pharmacotherapy course and provides various lectures throughout the year.  She is also an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at Mercy Hospital’s JFK clinic assisting with chronic disease state management, drug information, precepting students/residents, and completing research.  Dr. Challen became a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist in 2007, a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist in 2014, and completed her Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Houston in 2010.
